Trade Without Borders’ initial focus will be on EDUCATION supplies to Village Stores and other Microentrepreneur channels, as well as to NGOs active in the Education sector. Over time, we expect to be involved with product procurement and supply in as many as six different sectors in total. We have identified these sectors based on extensive research. The sectors have been identified based on human needs – from the most basic survival needs to the more general needs, which are nevertheless crucial for human development. The Trade Without Borders logo features 6 intersecting lines. Each set of intersecting lines is an adaptation of the Chinese symbol for person ("人"). So, essentially, the logo shows 6 persons linked together. Each “person” also represents each of the 6 Development sectors TWB targets: Water & Sanitation (blue); Food, Agriculture & Fisheries (brown); Health Care (red); Housing (orange); Education (yellow): the Environment (green).
A portfolio of products targeting each sector will be assembled into online catalogues. The first catalogue being developed will comprise of essential Education supplies.
