Product Procurement for Village Store Networks and NGOs

Our aim is to provide Village Store Networks and NGOs with a seamless supply chain from factory floor to local store or NGO project location.  As such, we are developing a database of qualified and socially responsible manufacturers world-wide, starting with the Far East.  We source cost-effective products directly from these manufacturers in order to supply NGOs around the globe with the essential products they require for their local projects.  In tandem with global partners, we manage the supply chain as follows:

  • Ensure that products are of good quality and from socially responsible manufacturers
  • Manage an online catalogue of essential supplies
  • Coordinate with Village Store Networks and NGO organizations to identify their procurement needs
  • Manage orders directly to manufacturers and oversee production of goods
  • Inspect all goods before shipment
  • Deliver goods to world-wide destinations in the most cost-effective and efficient manner possible.
  • Enable targeted financing of goods designated for specific NGO projects
  • Track and manage all aspects of the streamlined supply chain, keeping the Village Store Networks, NGOs, our partners and supporters fully informed

The benefits of such an efficiently managed supply chain include:

Village Store Owners
  • Access to low-cost products made to international standards
  • An expanded product range to better serve their local customers
  • Allow individual Village Store owners to obtain goods at factory cost*
  • Village Store Networks can benefit from economies of scale in product procurement by aggregating their purchases
NGOs
  • Lower total procurement costs for large-scale, as well as grass-roots level NGO projects
  • A full range of supplies available to NGOs to fully enable and support their development projects
  • Allow NGOs to focus more resources on their primary missions with fewer resources required to address product procurement needs or to solicit product donations.
  • Complements in-kind donations an NGOs receives, or fulfills needs for supplies unmet through in-kind donations.
  • NGOs acquire newly manufactured products, which can potentially be used for a longer period, when compared to re-used goods
  • NGOs can better plan, knowing exactly what materials they will have available to utilize for their programs
  • Products are supplied based on the NGO’s qualified request, ensuring they are targeted and suitable for the NGO project
  • By leveraging the distribution network to Village Stores, NGOs can readily obtain supplies in the short-term through local Village Stores

Six Targeted Development Sectors

TWB intends to work with NGOs with established, on-going, sustainable development projects in each of the following key international development sectors

Consistent with its intention of developing in a practical and measured manner, TWB will focus its efforts on the Education sector first, before expanding to serve the product procurement needs of NGOs within each of the other sectors.

A portfolio of products targeting each sector will be assembled into online catalogues. The first catalogue being developed will comprise of essential Education supplies.
