Qualified NGOs
There are literally thousands of NGOs the world over. We aim to work with a wide and diverse range of NGOs from major global organizations, to country-specific, grass-roots level organizations. Major NGO organizations with an established, documented record of charitable work would be able to work directly with Trade Without Borders and register with us directly. Smaller, grass-roots organizations with minimal documented records would be referred to TWB through one of our partner umbrella NGO organizations. These organizations may have tens or hundreds of members, who may be registered with and vetted by the umbrella organization as a credible NGO. All NGOs would be required to register with TWB We will be implementing systems to enable online registration shortly.
NGOs who register with TWB would need to agree to provide details of their organization and the projects they sponsor or support. In addition, they would need to agree to collaborate with TWB to document the use of goods procured through TWB for their individual projects.
Accounting for and Tracking Donated Funds
We would provide individuals, corporations, foundations, governments and others a means to make targeted donations, which are traceable and can be accounted for. How would we do this?
- We would provide profiles on each of the NGOs registered with TWB, their development projects and the specific supplies they are in need of. Prospective donors would be able to review the profiles to learn more about the NGOs we serve and how their projects are changing lives in communities around the world.
- We would provide information on the total cost to procure supplies directly from a manufacturer, manage the order transaction, and deliver the goods to the NGO.
- Donors would then be able to specify exactly which NGO project they wish to support and how much they wish to contribute
- If they prefer, donors would be able to contribute to one of the 6 development sectors in general, rather than a specific NGO project.
- Donations could be made anonymously. However, we do request donors to register with TWB to facilitate their giving, and also to help us to better manage the funds donated. We are in the process of implementing systems for online donor registration and online donation facilities.
- It will be possible to track all TWB registered projects online, including the total funding needed to procure needed supplies, the amount received to date and the amount still needed.
- Orders would be released to a manufacturer once full funding is in place. NGOs with procurement budgets or stand-by funding who are able to confirm payment terms, would be able to place their orders immediately.
- We would enable on-going tracking of goods procured for an NGO project, its delivery to the NGO, and the use of the goods by the NGO in the field.
